Bard’s Day
(23 April)
It’s a word that without
Context is simply one
Strange sound
Add a letter, the hair
On the bottom of his
Face has definition
Instead substitute
A letter, the word
And man (he was a
Man) take flight
Happy birthday, man
Of words that fly

Lovely tribute to him. What number of birthday is it? Such a talented man, hundreds of years later still, his plays and poetry are the height of excellence.

I’m happy you like this. This is birthday 452. Yes, his work seems to be good for all times, doesn’t it? The best performance of his plays I’ve experienced so far were at the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario. Go, Canada!

That’s awesome. I go to Shakespeare in the park every year in Edmonton. They did a hilarious version of A Mid Summers Night Dream and a disturbing (but wonderful) rendition of Richard the III.

I’m delighted you get to experience Shakespeare in performance every year. I have no problem believing that the comedy and tragedy (or history) are done superbly.
