I should say something
It’s what I do
What I’ve done
For a thousand days
I’d call it discipline
Except it doesn’t feel that way
I’d call it delight
Except I rarely feel anything
Like giddy
Anymore, it’s simply
What I do
It’s ritualized, a secular
Devotion
No orthodoxy yet,
Which tends to mean oppression
This was
Established out of freedom
As a means for physical recovery
I guess it’s working
I’m still here
Now so are you

Christopher, perhaps you can establish the Holy Order of Poetry and Prose and ordain me as one of its members. I would willingly swear my vows to any rules of the order which you care to establish. Here is my Certificate of Profession:
” This is to certify that Leonard White, of the Holy Order of Poetry and Prose, was professed as a novitiate on August 18, 2020, and has promised to live henceforth according to the rules of said order until death. ”
I understand that I will have to undergo a trial period as a novitiate, and can be expelled at any time.
Can you send me a list of the rules and regulations, either in poetry or prose form, whichever you prefer?
Thank you for this opportunity.

—-Love everything about this poem and all that it conveys. Great work, Christopher.
