because a day is waiting
with stress
and opportunity
so who
leaps out
of bed
anyway
ready
unwashed to joy the day

okay

jump up to the morning
or the evening
if
third shift
to talk to waking hours
and
God behind the time
or
whatever preposition to apply
but then
to wash for decency
for
civilized acceptance
unless
conscious to exigence
with
immediate contention and
there’s
no clear water
anyway

the war accompanied
by a board for peace
called
by someone who took billions of dollars
from people
to fund itself
we need this magic
instant gold as if a spell
