days of silence
it is possible
and has happened
that
there are days when I don’t speak to anyone
not because I’m miffed
rather because there was no one
and I mean to use
my voice
though I might
talk in writing all the time
and
for a while now at least
there hasn’t been so much a gap in that
in this
as pauses that rarely go a day unless
there’s
surgery or some such
and the verbal silence doesn’t hut
maybe a little
and
I’ll sound croaky typically
when I talk again
and there are the hermits who go years
I guess
without saying anything yet
saying all the time in
spiritual conversation
then
those who try to blank their minds of everything
all
consciousness
per se
in order to be rid of any impeding thing in order
to know truly
everything
for
the rest is
silence
which is good for these
I think
and for me
I don’t know
but
too much
I believe
the quiet hours go
well
quiet
and as I am not yet finished in a life
or as a person
how much more might I learn
and own
of goodness
on my own
I need the time with you

(later, same day)
the first post will have to stand; it’s too much in the system or cyberspace or something
so here's an entry for today, more accurate to the date; I hope the verse is all right with you
(please and thank you)
Thursday the Thirteenth
no big deal
walk under ladders
break
your mirrors
your
own
ignore the cats
which is to
say
be good to cats in the way you are
each day
and really don’t break mirrors
and be safe
with
ladders
and still be nice to cats
all cats
though no superstition holds
no
special degree of penalty or
reward for honoring
the small things
yet
with consequence
we might think
we should
believe
have a normal day
and
tomorrow will be a superstition-free Friday
the Fourteenth
and we may ask ourselves
if we
wish
today or tomorrow or later on
the weekend if
we should
wathc out any day regarding superstitions
though folklore has its place as well
as
an attitude of prevention
and a good with-care weekend to you
fates
and
more so
divinities allowing

and I'm wrong--for some reason I thought today was Friday, and it's Thursday except maybe on a side of the Internation Dateline (though on Earth it will not be anywhere for now a Friday the thirteenth)
I'm not sure what exactly to do; ideally, I'll cancel this post and put in another--we'll see, stand by (please and thank you)
be kind to sable cats
and careful where the ladders are
my goodness
it’s a Friday the Thirteenth
and yesterday there was an eclipse
and we had the orange moon
and are having meteors
just now
so what do the heavens laid out by calendars
foretelling
to which the better reply might be
not a thing at least
for
those of us who do not know
who aren’t
practitioners but simply
live
as best we may
have the day
be nice
to cats
all colors
watch out for safety with our ladders
and try for practicality
not
to break mirrors
this concern a matter of safety
too
or to trip on cracks
which I know
I can do
and now I wonder if our
root concerns
for that category of cultural
life
you know
superstitions
does not
aim
to promote a preventiveness
regarding domestic peril
so
to avoid
well
in whatever way for
whatever
reason
I hope this is a good with-caution day for you
with
care at hand or close by
should something smally wounding
happen
good
safe weekend
too

the better wish
what
do I have to say for me
to you
or not for one or the either of us
depending on
selections
of
the muse
who rises and allows
I hope this is or has been
depending on zone
lines
a fine day for you
special
maybe beyond special for simply having been
the gift of another day
that the hours passed
well
for you
pleasant and however subcutaneous
some
satisfaction in it
rest you believe is deserved
or
you know
don’t think about it
simply and
may I wish a long and steady time
and
then ascend into tomorrow
its challenges
and
pleasures
possible and for you
to have both in healthy
measure
even
if the world isn’t careful in its
offerings that may
arrive
as
its demands
well
and as you often say to me
my friend

early to bed
so it’s another gray day
leaves bouncing
lightly
against the house and in a move
I don’t understand
there
has been some turning
one brilliant
tree I passed
just
the other day
I guess
maybe there’s a thirst
maybe a wish for a literal kind
of
cold comfort
maybe the green’s already tired
early August
in the north of east
and
yet it all seems out of time
though it isn’t
my time
to call at all
leaf-peeping
which sounds like a misdemeanor
might
come early to Pennsylvania
too
soon leaf’s-blood
come
sidling if not pouring out
with
a bright and subtle wish to notice
that the changes in our
climate
make
a difference
could be an occasion
of an invitation
only
with the big changes coming
closer to
when they should
a slight
note also to notice that it’s warmer
then
is should be
enhanced
by us
and what shall change
we drop the temperature
we burn finally
like
wildfires
or it’s an interpretation of
worldwide
a
nuclear winter
ongoing sounds pretty good for
ordinary against an
ending

days of dozing dogs
the wishes
would be mine
though I guess
these
days belong to dogs
bloodhound-looking dogs
reclining
on
a porches
in days that are wet and heavy
without the break
of rain
and this way ‘til September
when we hope
the change in
name
alone
will make a difference

good
God is good
and
gives us good
and teaches us as well
for in
everything might be a lesson
of its own purpose
and
to promote a making thus
a maker
so then nature as gospel
its
good news
in and of itself
though
sometimes it should
appear and feel
and is
indifference
and
what shall be learned
by
scouring tragedy
except to know
that loss
seems to prevail but
by calm days and
seasons
for new growth
does not overwhelm forever

“Aftermath of a Forest Fire in Canada”
TV says so
it was a newsperson
summer’s
over
I hear
and is that so
no
more extended day for play
vacations must be done
or not
happening
and all sights must be set on school
all shopping and
all
interests
and we might plead
not a student
or
a teacher and have that apply
except the seasons of the culture
are determined
by
180 days
and yellow buses
flashing lights and how to
plan
for holidays
as
well as what
to hope
by way of learning into
training for the generation taking over
once
the time of graduation speakers
done and paper handed out
suitable
for
framing
and
well
regarding end of summer
well
say it isn’t so
Joe
though Joe had to admit
it was
so
