Anything We Give Each Other

x

What shall I give of

Myself today?

Many skin cells,

Loose strands of hair,

Carbon dioxide

Naturally

x

Thoughts as I write

Or should I talk

With anyone;

Or will a few drop down

Onto the page

Made of cells

And electrons

From me

Or the machine?

x

And we will each give

Of each one

Exchange

Like inhale for exhale,

As close as

Sharing across

The boundaries

Allows inside the rings

Of a mortally fixed

Universe

Mis’ess Claus Testifies

Mis’ess Claus Testifies

(spelled out via T. Hardy et al)

Christmas got away from me

I still believe

You know who must be killing it?

The corrugated companies

It’s an expression, and I wonder

Please say you’re recycling

In some places, it is Boxing Day

In Sydney, that means kangaroos punching—

Kidding!

There will be boxes

There should have been enough

Yesterday

But receiving needs receiving

And in too many places

There was nothing

So as tradition and sense tells, give

More than that,

Give more

There are still too many dreams

That should have something

Psalm 36, song out of poverty

Psalm 36

song out of poverty

I would sing to you

But my throat is raw

I would give to the poor

Except that I am one

What may I do for you

When I have nothing to share?

Well, I am something, I guess

Even in the vacuum

Of offering

Something in my design

You liked in making me

And sustaining me thus far

I guess I do have

One more thing to give
