Evangelion
By God
All things are possible
Though likely
Parametered
By will
And obligation
For God won’t do
Or let anything be done
But that which goes
As love
And for us
Prepares apocalypse
Someday
For
Frankly a final shot at reconciliation
And so
(before)
If moving mountains
Helps the cause
Then we
Will move them
Too
With our mustard seed of faith
For proof
Or reconstructing parks
West of Eden
Where
We
Or anywhere
Shall move
The peaks
Talk about God
And then go home

It is a gloomy day
God appears in clouds
And in fire
These were pillars
If the sky had been painted
With clouds
As it is today
Then how could direction
Have been offered?
But they were pillars
They showed the way
For the Israelites
Perhaps the pillars
Moved as
Progress was made
Perhaps they stood still
As if to say,
I’m waiting for you
Your jealous God is waiting for you
With expectation
With transcendence
And with love
x
It you had not sinned
We would be together sooner
But knowing who are you
And loving you, all the same
I am waiting for you
Come to me
Come to my mountain
Come to my clouds
And fire
Come to my blue
Come to my laws
Come to my love

The Cost of Velocity
Wind is all around
Thanks to a machine
I’ll take it
Because sometimes if
We’re lucky, this
Is what we get
Maybe a mountain top would improve
Sensation
But like organic food, so-called
The fashion of the moment
Trips and climbs can’t be
Afforded
Time and money
Abrogated in favor of, you know,
Food (of any kind)
With the need to stay in place

Psalm 37
a song of earthly rendering
When news is so bad
Coupled with lack of opportunity
Everything is weighted down, dear Lord
I don’t know how to make it better
To see it better
To feel it better
Please, what shall I do
In past work, we see
That you are there
That you follow us through mountain passes
Over peaks
And in valleys so blinding in fog over the way
That we could be underneath earth as well as above
You bring us home, dear Lord
And are with us in safety
Or in peril
Calm our fears so that we might enjoy some relaxation in peace
Some soft moments in our day
Some mercy on the way
Let your justice prevail, O Lord, so much better than ours
May your help be plentiful
Your presence touchable
If only upon
The surface of our spirits
Because we can keep it dense and difficult
To allow you further in
Pardon me and be with me
Even when I am poor in realizing you
