haiku play and fancy with
no work proof for pay

the hour is done now
leaves have fallen into water
growing into green

old and new worlds tilt
leaning could be tree-delight
as dancing solstice

water purify
as on our other planets
with true air command

Truly unknown
Unguessed worlds

In other systems,
We embrace Goldilocks

We relish watery worlds
Turning around
Maybe blue suns
Maybe green

With what resources
Might we land
And explore
x
None for now
Except our senses at
Light years of distance
Through optimistic telescopes

And bright machines
With energy in cells
Plus and finally
Inertia,
Which will get there first
Meaning to say hello

We keep our guns
And other interests
Home for now

This agenda

Planet-faring selves,
We might make welcome places
For all we may discover
That will change us
In good ways if we’re ready and
