WordPress still won’t let me paste poetry to the page, a change from three days ago that doesn’t serve at all; I guess now I’ll have to shop around; I performed another technical two-step today to get anything down; if you write and post in the same way, then maybe you’re experience this frustration, too (only A-I has responded to my complaint without satisfactory responses)
God’s approval
how do we deal
knowing
that it’s coming
that
it’s here
and mostly by ignoring
it would seem
though
approval is a form of love
and maybe
there’s forbearance

the crisis
sigh
too much

hard
and we feel this way
because it is

that we could rest in the Lord
in part
while working out our muscles
and our worry just
over
the edge of crisis
as
to serve by job
of need
maybe because we are there
is all

I was driving and I guess the clouds were breaking up
if
only for a while and in the middle
well
I saw it
pale
set against the gray
and ringed by
white

uncertain ‘round the edges
as the afternoon became
a thoughtful
season

could I walk by the side of the sea
near a rise where
folk
are gathering
to hear him speak again
about
beatitudes
and humble righteousness that might be in reach
not as the leaders of religion
and politics
dictate
but as God set the relationship to start and
even flawed or fallen
should apply
not easy words
always
to hear him
but
what’s shared is for us for us
to try
then I suppose he will
leave again
as he
does as if he’s tired
and we press on him
it’s true
as if there were no end to his miracles
and teaching
and
how these go together but
he must depart
and
I think I understand
he’ll walk away with closer followers
or get in a boat that’s tethered
near
and the miracle goes on
amazement it must be
to be so close
away or
with the multitude

days of silence
it is possible
and has happened
that
there are days when I don’t speak to anyone
not because I’m miffed
rather because there was no one
and I mean to use
my voice
though I might
talk in writing all the time
and
for a while now at least
there hasn’t been so much a gap in that
in this
as pauses that rarely go a day unless
there’s
surgery or some such
and the verbal silence doesn’t hut
maybe a little
and
I’ll sound croaky typically
when I talk again
and there are the hermits who go years
I guess
without saying anything yet
saying all the time in
spiritual conversation
then
those who try to blank their minds of everything
all
consciousness
per se
in order to be rid of any impeding thing in order
to know truly
everything
for
the rest is
silence
which is good for these
I think
and for me
I don’t know
but
too much
I believe
the quiet hours go
well
quiet
and as I am not yet finished in a life
or as a person
how much more might I learn
and own
of goodness
on my own
I need the time with you
