We get old

Forgetting we were young

No one would believe us

White hair

No hair

Everything takes longer

We wonder what to do with our day

An irony

On irony

We know more

Unless we gave that up

Stopping in our heads

Sometime ago

We could grow

We have things to say

Who wants to listen?

The gray become unseen

Unheard

Psalm 46

Psalm 46

A new world comes

And some would say

It’s here

By your hand, we might

Live in better days

The images we make

For politics or

Entertainment

Are wrung through

With shiny fakery

I think our new day

Will arrive,

Lord,

When we learn to say

I love you to the ground

And to the air

And to the wind we

Cannot see but truly

Feel and have:

When we learn the

Value of unseen things,

We can say I love you

To each other

Then your new day is

Manifest

U is for (Unseen)

U is for (Unseen)

What we are we cannot see

Values, mores, inclinations

Preference toward criminality

Or toward the light

Words make these real,

Sometimes more than actions

Actions become lessons in

Addition to what happened

And what was achieved

Christ is dead

Not now but long ago

And on the full day in between

When the body lay in Joseph’s

Tomb, the movement sleeps

As well

Nightmares of capture

And, worse, hopelessness

It is a time for cynical
