E is for Erato
(the muse of love poetry)
We breathe in and out our
Bodies matching moving hearts
Delight in joined revealing
Opened and shared at last
Love lingers, and that’s important
But in this time it’s passion
Sending a siren-song whose
Magic we shall not escape
‘Til breathing slows and sacred
Act eases into other life

“Sending a siren-song whose/ Magic we shall not escape”. No, nothing and no one can escape the magic of passionate love. Loved this, Christopher.

I’m happy for your reaction, Annie. You cite the two lines that were the hardest to compose!

Oh, yes, you’ve explained the word, Rosema. And I’ve tried to use it when responding to the writing of others. But I think this is the first time anyone has gifted that word to me for what I wrote. Emoji-smile (still can’t find emojis).
