Exposition

Meanwhile
The story elsewhere continues
Other people with new heroes are
Arranging strategies
And praying over practices
What will happen
With their plans
Will there be a victory
The better kind, built upon what’s good
And attending toward a future
That will have promises
To keep
So when I wonder if I’ll ever move along
I can know, if I want to
That the plot is realized in other places
The tale is not finished
For a planet with a billion years to go
How much has the story
Started
Not so much
For us

Sad but also hopeful. It’s that realization that from the moment we’re born we’re dying and that life can be terrible and tough, but there’s hope in the future in a world we know will continue with new idealization and industriousness. Maybe ways to make living and being ill tolerable and less horrible. Hope in new generations. Thoughtful as always.
