It Happened at the Movies
Victoria was queen
I’ve seen it in a movie
She would not be amused
I heard that was because of Pinafore
Whose parody of navy she did not find
An entertainment
To be noted that, when the time,
Sullivan was knighted for the music
Gilbert without, due to the words
Somehow
In the common way, I think
She had many children
And a wayward son
Who would be king
I’ve seen this in movies, too
I don’t know what we learn
I don’t know what we learn
I’m sure it’s something
About how royalty might be like us
Foibles in magnitude
Because of magnifying
Looks
And who takes up the interest
Committed to that
As it is, they may come by
The royals
I should be glad to have some coffee
For and with them
We can have conversation at
The kitchen table
The way Golda Meir talked with leaders
Having baked them bread beforehand
In a movie, in a book
I learned this somewhere

I can so relate to this. I’ve seen the miniseries, “Victoria” and I feel I know her after watching it. It’s so true, you’ve captured a very universal experience. I love how we learn these little tidbits in movies and books. 🙂

So so nice observations, brother! Indeed we are like them. All humans. 🙂

Very interesting what we can learn from Royalty, maybe that even being rulers and dictators, life in the spotlight wasn’t easy and that wit( Victoria, even having lol those children, most of them passed, and Edward himself, didn’t last too long despite his foibles. But, it would be neat to have coffe with them and hear there perspective, back then and now. Have you watched the Victoria seties? I haven’t yet, but my Aunt highly recommends it. I’m waiting until Netflix or Amazon I guess. I do love the Crown though. It’s very well done.
