Where Are You?
A single bird sings to the rest
I’m here
I’m here
I’m here
Come to me
I’m lonely
And I’m hungry
I’m here
I’m here
I’m here
I have this nest, you see
I’m here
I’m here
I’m here
And I must stay
Until they’re here
And then
We’re here
We’re here
We’re here

I heard a single bird, which was also inspiration

……………..and they lived happily ever after. Simple, repetitious, but very, very effective.

Thank you! And hopefully they lived that way.

Thank you! When I got to what turned out to be the end, I didn’t want to add more, especially merely to add more.

Knowing how to end a poem is as important as how to start it.

the refrain warms the heart, like how birds’ songs do in the morning. 🙂 beautiful, brother

Thank you! I had fun writing it, using repetition. And keeping it short (that was fun, too).
I hope you’re safe and well, sister!

I’m glad to hear you’re well! I’m all right. I had a sinus infection whose symptoms were like the virus’s. But I got an antibiotic and am pretty much over what I had.
We’re living in an extra-tense time. You are in my prayers.
