Monday acceptably

really now
what shall I say
today
a Monday in the USA and half
of elsewhere
or
where it might be yesterday

tomorrow

how many groan maybe
in silence
while
having risen or having gotten up and then
mentally increasing toward awake

maybe those who have fewer days until
the start of the school
year
which is mathematic
but also in an
attitude

and newly
Monday-aware that
that
freedom’s breath shall soon be constrained
in time lengths of periods
and
days for several months

and seaons for nearly all who live in this
reality
are changing soon

and the air in that
received
and breathed
and
so
last of vacation thoughts regardless
if we leave
to think this way a while
longer

with all the reminders from the sales
and
how they have us think ahead
if desired or not to have to
do so

and it’s Monday after Sunday
so for many
by now
there has been church
or temple or daily
visitations
that might have a feel for the culture

while for many the experience was an exercise
in
dullness
helping along our own or
were we changed at
all
and who knows
maybe a few

though it’s God of Monday
too
and so keep close to offer inhalation
or further inspiration to
see
to the chores with maybe happier thoughts
and words
for
being a new day
of days
as well

and better for the attitude
more so
